Charitable Events

  The Redlands Police Officers Foundation (RPOF) is honored to serve our community. The RPOF has supported the community through volunteering and by donating funds to local charities for many years. The RPOF is a non-profit organization. The monies raised allow the RPOF to support local scholarships, youth sports and non-profit organizations. Our desire is to continue our tradition of “Giving Back” to the community we serve.

GUNS AND HOSES BLOOD DRIVE
Donors braved the afternoon heat Monday to help save lives during the Guns and Hoses blood drive and bone marrow screening at the Redlands Community Center. The center and Redlands Police and Fire departments partnered with LifeStream to hold the drive, which also gave donors an opportunity to check out some of the city’s specialized equipment, including the ballistic rescue vehicle.
REDLANDS POLICE OFFICER HELPS HOMELESS WOMAN
Redlands Police Officer’s Association member Chris Mead assisted a homeless woman who was stranded in Redlands. The woman who is from out of the area, recently became homeless. She was dropped off in Redlands and left stranded. She had no shoes, no warm clothes, had no idea where to go, and was staying inside of a business to keep warm. Several attempts were made to local shelters but all were at max capacity due to the extremely cold weather last night. The woman was provided with a warm jacket, blankets, shoes, and other necessities. She was also provided with a list of homeless resources in the area. Thank you officer Chris Mead for going above and beyond the call of duty to help this person in need!
BAGPIPES OF SPRING DONATION
The RPOF recently supported the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Bagpipe Band’s 2016 Pipes of Spring Concert. The group is a non-profit organization that teaches children how to play bagpipes. With the RPOF’s help the band will be able to continue performing at San Bernardino County Police Academy graduations and events. The Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Bagpipe Band also assists in the promotion of piping at Upland High School.
LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Southern California is the largest public awareness vehicle and grassroots fundraiser with more than 3,500 officers in Southern California championing acceptance and inclusion. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is represented in all 50 U.S. states, Canadian provinces and 46 nations with 97,000 officers around the world, raising more than half a billion dollars since its inception in 1981. The Law Enforcement Torch Run in Southern California is one the leading program in the world, raising $1.7 million in 2015 with participants representing 200 law enforcement agencies.
ORANGEWOOD JERSEY DONATION
The Redlands Police Officer’s Foundation teamed up with @bluecollarathletics to purchase Orangewood High School new jerseys for their athletic program. The school had been using the same jerseys for all their sports programs for over 7 years! The RPOF and blue collar understand the benefits children get from athletic programs so we purchased new jerseys that the athletes can wear with pride from JAM Sportswear.
OPOA’S WIDOWS & ORPHANS GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Redlands Police Officer Foundation donated a foursome to the OPOA’s widows and Orphans Fund golf tournament. All the money raised from the tournament goes to families of injured and fallen officers families throughout the State and Country.

5TH ANNUAL SHOOT, LOOT & SCOOT FUNDRAISER
The Redlands Police Officer’s Foundation made a donation to the 5th annual Shoot, Loot, & Scoot fundraising event held to benefit the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. The initial money raised from this one day event is over $20,000 with more donations coming in!
K-9 FUNDRAISER
The Redlands police department K9 program hosted a fundraiser on September 17th, 2016, at Gerrards Market located at 705 W Cypress Ave in Redlands. Fun family activities events helped raise money for the K-9 program! Police equipment was displayed, K9 demonstration, bounce house, face painting, live entertainment, food, beer tasting, and much more were enjoyed by all who attended.
The Redlands police department K9 program was established in 2007 and has been mostly funded by private donations through the community. With the continuous generous support from the community the program can continue to help keep our community safe!
THANKSGIVING MEAL AT THE JOSLYN SENIOR CENTER
The Redlands Police Officers Foundation (RPOF) provided meals for 120 seniors at the Joslyn Senior Center. This is the 6th year in a row the RPOF has fully funded the thanksgiving luncheon. Police personnel enjoyed spending time serving meals to the seniors. This has proven to be a special time every year for the seniors to be with friends and police personnel.

Charitable Donations

  For the past two years, the Redlands Police Officers Association has raised almost $30,000 in donations, which the RPOA Charitable Foundation donated to local organizations and charities that support and provide services to youth in the community. In addition to the RCH Foundation, recipients have included AYSO, Redlands Baseball for Youth, March of Dimes, San Bernardino Sexual Assault Services, Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Club, athletics programs at each of the high schools in the Redlands Unified School District, Micah House, and the Children’s Cancer Foundation of Southern California.
